[SOLVED]id x respawning too fast error after partition copy

Hi,

using a backup copy of my partition, I recently restored my system after a bad update and upgraded for the first time in more than 3 months (please dont ask why). After restoring and before upgrading, I tried to log in but I got the mentioned
respawning too fast
error occured. I read in another thread that the problem went away after upgrading, so I proceeded. But the problem still persists. Here is what I tried without success: changing login manager (slim, gdm, lxdm), changing desktop manager (gnome, lxde), reinstalling cairo, I tried both the xorg and the catalyst drivers and followed all solutions I found suggesting that virtualbox was the cause of my problems. Now Im really stuck, all help is much appreciated.
Best Thanks,
Mark

Re: [SOLVED]id x respawning too fast error after partition copy

Hello, I found a workaround for this: create a symlink for libudev.so.0 leading to libudev.so in /usr/lib.
