[solved] gnome shell 3.6 themes are ugly
hi, i have a problem with gnome-shell, i installed a theme in gnome-shell, and gtk theme, but windows are similar to the windows 95, and gnome-shell theme not work property.
hi have nvidia graphic card and nvidia property drivers.
and sometimes gnome-shell is freezing.

Where did you put the Theme? To get a Theme work i had to put it in:
/usr/share/themesinstead of
~/.themes/Offline

yes i put the theme in this folders, but the gtk themes not work property...
look geany is showing
in configuration gnome-tweak-tool i have this
Gtk+ theme = faience
actual theme = faience
gnome-shell theme = faience

Make sure the theme is GTK/Gnome 3.6 compatible and you have the necessary GTK engines (gtk-engine-unico for example) installed.
Also, as of version 3.6 mutter seems to look for themes either in /usr/share/themes or in ~/.local/share/themes. GTK themes, however, can still be successfully applied when found in ~/.themes folder. Metacity (displays window decorations in fallback mode or when using compiz with gtk-window-decorator) also accepts themes found in ~/.themes. So, if for some reason you do not want to copy your themes to /usr/share/themes, you can put them in ~/.themes and create a symbolic link in ~/.local/share/themes pointing to the theme in ~/.themes.
To check wether window decorations will be displayed before actually changing the theme you can issue the command mutter-theme-viewer name_of_theme.
