Re: Java JDK 8 Installation?

You can find version 8 as jdk-devel and jre-devel in the AUR.

Arch is not a distribution that holds your hand, but it has very good documentation. You are required to invest some time in learning and reading the wiki.

Re: Java JDK 8 Installation?

My favorite three AUR helpers is yaourt, cower, packer.

Installing yaourt is quite simple, just add repository to pacman.conf:

[archlinuxfr]
Server = http://repo.archlinux.fr/$arch

and then

pacman -Sy yaourt

then yaourt -S AURpackagename

Re: Java JDK 8 Installation?

I was just looking for a Linux Distro that has high performance and lightweight for gameserver purposes only.. This is the most complicated distro I have ever used.

The basic thing I need is Java installed and then I can run the .sh files to start my gameservers.

Thanks again!

Managed to fix it now! smile
