Kernel Panic: System tends to freeze during boot

I regularly experience random freezes as i try to boot a recent install of Arch Linux on my system, which is an older Macbook (2,1). In such a case i get the following output after setting GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX to "text":

...
intel_display_capture_error_state+x0x6b/0x2a0...
...
Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt

Despite of these hangs i have no problem with the current setup once i managed to boot into it successfully. So far the only way for me to cope with the problem, is to force reboot and get through the process with a little bit of luck.

Any ideas for a solution?
