[Solved]ABS Rsync failed

I get the following error when I try to run abs to download packages.

rsync: failed to connect to rsync.archlinux.org (89.238.67.251): Connection timed out (110)
rsync: failed to connect to rsync.archlinux.org (2a00:1828:2000:547::2): Network is unreachable (101)
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(128) [Receiver=3.1.0]

This is very strange, I tried both disabling ufw (which is enabled by default denying incoming traffic) and the firewall of my router but this did not help.

I read this and imagined that the problem would be solved by disabling my firewalls or port forwarding. I also tried port forwarding TCP port 873 on my router but it seems to have had no more effect than disabling the firewall.

I personally think the problem is something else than the firewall as I have successfully run ABS before on the same router and some system with the same UFW ruleset enabled as well with no troubles at all (just the other day in fact, but I've had to reinstall since)

Re: [Solved]ABS Rsync failed

Looks like there is an issue at our end.  I will chase this up.

Re: [Solved]ABS Rsync failed

I personally am not 100% sure it's an issue on your end just yet.

Trying to probe for open TCP ports with this site it says port 873 is closed on my connection which is very very odd considering that the router has definitely forwarded the port for my local IP and ufw/iptables are disabled and i made doubly sure they are not running.

I am gonna check what happens with another router.

Edit: On the other router I get the same results, thinking back I was using this router the other day (not the one I was using when I made the OP) but this is clearly not working on this one either.

Re: [Solved]ABS Rsync failed

Yeah I'm thinking the UPNP of my routers should be handling this normally.
