No way to shutdown the laptop

Hi

I'm experiencing something special today, I opened the laptop and there is a blue light for the power who blink slowly. Ok, that normal, that the state when my laptop is on suspend mode. So I press my power button and... Nothing. Well, I try again, I try to press for a long time (~30sec), try to press quickly 10sec. No way, the light blink always slowly. And there no easy way to put out my battery, so I searched over the net and found the sysreq shortcut: Alt + (sysreq | print screen) + B. No way ! I can't do anything.

Please help me

Ok, I just have to wait and the computer seem running, not in the suspend state, so ... in 3hour the pc down. No battery left.

But, I don't like it ! I don't want to be in the same case in future, even if it's a rare case. Does have somebody a solution.

Maybe the sysreq ?

Most SysReq functions are disabled by default.
Create the following file:  /etc/sysctl.d/99-sysctl.conf
and add the following line:  kernel.sysrq = 1
and save, reboot. This should allow you to use all the SysReq shortcuts, including the reboot shortcut you mentioned.

However, in this case I do not think it would have helped with your issue. If Linux is stuck in suspend mode, it is (according to my experiences) quite unlikely for it to wake again.
You may be able to tweak some ACPI kernel parameters to try and resolve your issue. (Exactly what parameters you need to change is experimental research done on your part. )

Bad luck ! Today I have again this problem ... And I can confirm that sysreq shortcut doesn't work in this case.

Does someone have a idea how to debug it ? Find where is the problem, maybe some log ?
