Directing modesetting driver to control backlight in Optimus system.

I have an optimus laptop which I've have been using with intel driver until I started having problems with the driver. I switched over to modesetting driver which has solved all problems except that I lost the ability to control the backlight. I tried directing the modesetting driver to the intel card by having the following in my xorg.conf:
Section "Device"
    Identifier  "Card0"
    Driver      "modesetting"
    Option      "Backlight"  "intel_backlight"
EndSection
However, this did not solve the problem. How do I set up my modesetting driver to control the backlight?
