Hello, I plan on posting mutiple threads to seperate my mutiple questions regarding my Arch Setup. I have installed archlinux on my IBM T42 2373-8ZU, and need some extra help from the community
I'm using the xfce4 interface(first time) and also the xf86-video-ati for my video driver
Currently it has extremely poor gpu performance granted it could just be this GPU is really that bad, but it feels like hardware acceleration is off. is there a proper way to configure the driver for my card(Radeon Mobility 9600 64MB)
I have other questions but I should probably put them in proper subsections?
Greetings

The GPU is not bad, it's just ancient and has earned its place among our respected elder. Read this one: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ATI, it will tell you to find the right driver here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xorg#ATI. This means you have picked the correct driver. Follow the article and the relevant links in the article. Your question is a bit too general for us to start throwing around assumptions, so return with more specific questions, if the article fails for you.
And you are right: We have this one question per thread policy to reduce clutter and make the board as readable as it is writable.
Have a nice one!

You're correct in that you should open seperate threads for seperate issues. Regarding this first issue, have you made sure to install the corresponding mesa packages? i.e. mesa-libgl ? What's the output of
glxinfo | grep OpenGL

Yeah, the output of that is command not found(i must be missing a module)
I didn't install ALL of the mesa packages, i think, I know I installed a few. I'll take a look at the pages, Thanks and I figured it's a one question per thread, otherwise it would be a MESS
EDIT: All mesa modules installed, they already were
