Re: Anyone get Firefox 49 to play netflix natively?

I am so glad I read this thread. For the first time, I have Netflix playing in FF. For full disclosure, posts No 4 and 13 did it.

No more Chrome smile

Re: Anyone get Firefox 49 to play netflix natively?

Hmmm ... ok.  I was actually able to get this to work, but it required both changing my user agent and disabling my Flashblock plugin, (Even though I already had all the netflix domains - or at least what I think were all the domains - whitelisted in Flashblock.)  It's a bit annoying to have to jump through all those hoops, but glad I was able to get this to work!

Re: Anyone get Firefox 49 to play netflix natively?

Short question, does anyone else have problems with the latest Firefox version (50.1.0)? Having DRM installed and using a Windows user agent, I get error F7121-1331-P7. Didn't find something on Google yet, so I thought I should ask here...
EDIT: I should add that it did work before just fine, problems started this evening...

I have the exact same problem.

Hope someone finds a solution!

Looks like they changed their API somehow to block users from open source operating systems. Was told at customer support that open source operating systems aren't supported.

Then that customer support person has no clue, considering Chrome/Chromium work just fine using *the exact same* content decryption module as is now used by Firefox. Or do Chrome/Chromium now suddenly not work anymore?

Chrome does still work, however customer support meant that they won't help you if you run into errors because you're using Linux.

Can verify that Netflix no longer works with the wiki instructions using a user agent string from Firefox on Windows, such as

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; rv:50.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/50.0

.

Works for me as well, thanks for finding out! Can somebody update the information in the wiki accordingly?
EDIT: Just edited the wiki myself, information is there now. If it's not enough, feel free to improve it.

For people who complain that user agent changed based on wiki but still Firefox 49 and greater displays black page when watching Netflix, please make sure that your history is on in Firefox. If remember history in Firefox is disabled, somehow Netflix doesn't work.

Re: Anyone get Firefox 49 to play netflix natively?

I have tried to get Netflix running in Firefox but I always get "Error Code: M7121-1331-P7" when trying to play one of their videos.

Done as described on the wiki, here in the forums and so on:
1. Allow Firefox to install DRM. - Check
2. Forge a Chrome on Linux user agent. - Check

Tried

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.75 Safari/537.36

and several other combinations: Linux-Chrome, Windows-Chrome, Linux-Firefox, Windows-Firefox etc. Always googled the latest versions of the browsers and yet it still doesn't work.

So, 3. Add MOZ_DISABLE_GMP_SANDBOX=1 as an environment variable. - Check
Restarted computer. Tried different user agents again. Still getting "Error Code: M7121-1331-P7".

Somehow I can't believe that, since we have another Arch machine here with Chromium installed where Netflix works fine. The problem is only Firefox+Arch .
Any idea what to do?

(Edit: Just started Firefox in safe-mode and things are working, I'm guessing that one of my add-ons is conflicting with Netflix)

Re: Anyone get Firefox 49 to play netflix natively?

Firefox in the repos is now 51. Solution in the wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fi … dia_codecs

This has served its porpoise.
