Delay in loading Kernel

Background: On my dual boot system, installing the latest updates to Win 10 messed something up and I had to go in and reinstall linux by chroot-ing into /mnt.

Now, after I select Arch Linux form systemd-boot menu, the screen goes blank for about 10s before vmlinuz is loaded. It used to be around 3s before. I can't figure out what could be happening here. Any help will be appreciated.

$ systemd-analyze
Startup finished in 6.912s (firmware) + 617ms (loader) + 10.632s (kernel) + 2.286s (initrd) + 814ms (userspace) = 21.265s
