Hi everyone,
reading some samba guides like this: [arch wiki about samba] and this: [samba walkthroughs].
I'm trying to share my /home/myuser/Public and my /home/myuser/Music folders
I'm trying to set as minimal configuration as I can.
This is smb.conf
[global]
workgroup = MINIREDE
netbios name = inmypc
[thepublic]
path = /home/myuser/Public
[themusic]
path = /home/myuser/Music
I did
sudo systemctl start smbd.service
Now I'm trying to find the shares with my windows:
\\inmypc\thepublic \\inmypc\themusic and this DOESN'T WORK
I think I've mistaken how the server name is done and how to connect it.
Any idea?

* install arch * install dsk envir.
* i've returned to gnome3 * install libreoffice
* make the scnn wrk * printer works
* skype works * shared folder

Are you sure you followed our wiki's samba page? More steps are required.

Hi again!!
Thanks for your advice @graysky.
I've re-reading the wiki and guessing a lot of things, and... I'm sorry. I've choosen the easy way installing system-config-samba package and I did everything through its GUI.
I think i don't know how to make interpretation of what I read into what I need.
I understand smb.conf file, port opening with ufw and service enabling but the mounting thing was quite hard to know what and where to mount.
If I have the time I'll check the files to know how things are configured and maybe I can make a personal instruction list to a homemade (and handmade) sharing configuration.
