[Solved] Where is mod_perl

Hi,

Long story short, trying to install otrs.

I have MariaDB working.
I have installed Apache

But for the life of me I cannot find mod_perl, I have done a search on pacman (pacman -Ss mod_perl) and can't find it.

As a last resort I tried downloading the mod_perl source and compiling it but it has difficulties finding my apache installation.

I am a Linux newbie, so be gentle - I feel as if I am missing something.

Please help

Best regards

Mark

Thank you both for replying.

So AUR is a community pre-packaged (if that's the word) content.

Fantastic stuff.

Thanks again

Re: [Solved] Where is mod_perl

the AUR is a repository of text files that instruct makepkg on how to download and build packages.
you should take a look at the main wiki page to learn more about it. you shouldn't use a fully automated helper until you're fully comfortable building and maintaining AUR packages yourself, as if it breaks, it'll be your responsibility to fix it, without the help of said helper. also, it's your responsibility to verify the security and trustworthiness of AUR packages, so the build process is important.

personally, I like to use cower, as the only thing it does is download and sort the pkgbuilds and then leaves it up to you to do with them what you need.
