Hibernation setup

I would like to have a hibernation command setup and I was following this tutorial

http://blog.programmableproduction.com/ … Hibernate/

Everything was going well until I got to where it wants me to edit /etc/default/grub as grub does not exist in that dir

I should also note that I do not have a login screen setup. I login at the shell when the computer boots and then type startx to boot into the DE

Is there someone that could help me modify the instructions so that I can get hiberation working and on resume it just bring me back to shell and I have to relaunch the DE with startx

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer

What's your DE?

For gnome you might want to enable gdm at startup.
$ systemctl enable gdm.service

This may solve your issue.
