[Solved] Icon font not rendering correctly

I installed the icon font https://materialdesignicons.com on my Arch installation, but it doesn't seem to render. Running

fc-list

shows it on the list of installed fonts. I can even use

gucharmap

and see the glyphs. But trying to display them to copy shows nothing or strange caracters, as seen here (look at the bottom box): https://i.stack.imgur.com/ppsqy.png What could be wrong?

Re: [Solved] Icon font not rendering correctly

That icon font uses the Private Use Area (as you can see e.g. in FontForge) for its characers. Different fonts may show different characters for the same codepoint in a PUA. You probably have Deja Vu or Unifont installed and it covers the same code point, and so you see a Chinese glyph or whatever that is. So maybe try to uninstall those fonts.

Re: [Solved] Icon font not rendering correctly

Solved this problem. The font Adobe Blank that was using most of the unicode codepoints. Disabled it and now it works perfectly.
