Hi everyone,
I'm using the Plasma 5 desktop and managed to set the default action for *.desktop files to open with editor. After the Update to Plasma 5.9.1, I was asked whether I wanted to open or launch the file by clicking on it on the Desktop and unfortunately, I ticked the "Do not ask again" box and clicked open. Now for lauchning the applications I have to right-click the *.desktop file and then click on open in the context menu for the application to open.
How do I restore the default behaviour, which is just launching *.desktop files on the desktop? I already tried different things like resetting Plasma by deleting the corresponding configuration files and resetting file associations. Plasma systemsettings shows a variety of text editors as default actions for the application/x-desktop MIME type. Another thing I tried was using "kioclient exec" as default program, but this doesn't seem to be the right thing since there's always a kioclient window popping up in the window bar which it didn't use to be. Also the context menu for the desktop entry of Trash used to have options like empty trash and doesn't show them now in the on the desktop.
I hope somebody can help.

The 'Do not ask again' is saved to the: ~/.config/kiorc
The whole kiorc 'Executable scripts' part can be removed then the KDE will fall to the default.
