Installing Yousician

Hey all,

I'm trying to get Yousician set up.

There's not much in the Wiki Page. After some forum searching I found this thread, but it doesn't seem I'm having the same issue as the OP.

I've installed clang 3.9. I also updated while installing clang too.

I'm running from a 13" Dell XPS ultrabook into my 4k monitor. I use I3 as my DE. Please let me know if any further system info would be helpful.

The launcher starts, checks version, and then dies. Even though I launch it from a terminal, it doesn't print anything.

There are two places where logs exist as far as I can tell.

Mono path[1] = '/home/joshreed/Downloads/Yousician Launcher/Yousician.app/Yousician_Data/Mono'
Mono config path = '/home/joshreed/Downloads/Yousician Launcher/Yousician.app/Yousician_Data/Mono/etc'

and the log file mentioned in the wiki

Failed to initialize ScreenManager

I'm guessing

Failed to initialize ScreenManager

is the main culprit.

Do I need to add myself to a group or something?

Thanks in advance,

- Joshua

Re: Installing Yousician

Whelp, if I run the launcher as sudo, then the launcher gets past this point.

I now have the same problem as the OP in this post.

So, I suppose the question now is how could I get the launcher to run the same without sudo, and how can I get past the 'Your Linux installation is missing features that are required to launch Yousician.' message.

As mentioned in the previous post about Yousician, the support page provides instructions for installing libc++ and such in Ubuntu.

Is this a 'linking' issue or something similar?

Thanks again!
