How to customize LXDM CSS by myself?

Hello, I have installed LXDM as my display manager, and while I enjoy its simplicity, I think it has potential to look better.
I have found some CSS files inside

/usr/share/lxdm/themes/<theme>

and I have tried to tweak them through the GTK CSS Overview but with no result.
Is there any way to change the LXDM aspect through those CSS files (gtk.css)? If so, how? Any links to CSS GTK guides would be appreciated if they helped.

Thanks in advance.
