Blender Scripts

Hi

I would really like to learn scripting in Blender, but the scripts don't seem to work with the current installation.

I've updated the scripts path in the user preferences to

/usr/share/blender/scripts,

But still get this error on running scripts: specifically the console script under systems:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<string>", line 785, in ?
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'endswith'

Googling and searching various forums seems to suggest that this has something to do with the datadir set when blender was compiled...

Does anybody have extra insight to this question?
Thanks

Re: Blender Scripts

When you install blender with pacman, you should receive this note:

NOTE
----
blender is using the NAN makefiles to build, so we can access some better
features:
        - i18n support
        - anti-aliased interface fonts
        - gameplayer
We also ship the plugins, but most of these features can be accessed only
from the users home directory. Therefore, you wanna copy everything from
/usr/share/blender to ~/.blender (some are hidden files!). The browser-
plugin builds but is using an old mozilla API, this is why it doesn't work
and we don't ship it.
Happy blending!

I followed those orders and everything worked for me wink
