Network Manager shows no popup for entering password

Hi,
I have installed plugin for Network Manager to establish a connection to OpenVPN Server:
openvpn networkmanager-openvpn

The connection requires a password for the user key.

However, if I don't store this password in the connection settings, the connection fails.
Why is there no pop-up displayed to enter the required password?

Or an infinite amount of other reasons - hard to tell, because you revealed absolutely nothing about your actual setup.
