[SOLVED]lspci and start x shutdown my pc

After a fresh encrypted install on my pc, lspci and startx start a stop job after auditing, or something...
I'm sorry I can't be more specific. Just tell me what you need and I will get the info/files to you. Also, this probably belongs in a different topic, but when I try to shutdown or reboot my system can't do it. It just leaves of at emergency sync, and can't unmount several things. I don't think I have .xinitrc properly configured yet, I just thought it might have something to do with it.

How did you install Arch?

Re: [SOLVED]lspci and start x shutdown my pc

I just reinstalled arch between making this post and now. Same problem. I did it the regular way this time. I just followed the installation guide. Non-encrypted for ease of testing. Also these might help. These are the error messages. The last picture is the reboot error. It is what happens after the stop job or when I try to shutdown.

It's an Alienware laptop. So not exactly Linux friendly.

Sorry, forgot to mention I'm using i3. Will not start up however. Of course, due to the aforementioned crashing.

Don't post screenshots of text, paste the actual text: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … s_and_code

From a chroot, paste (in code tags) the journal for the session where this happened.

And learn to use the edit button: you don't have to keep bumping the thread.

It's pretty long because I wasn't sure how to edit it down without holding backspace for 20 minutes. It starts around 21:28. Sorry for violating your sacred code, sensei. About bumping. (A joke. Not being mean.)

Re: [SOLVED]lspci and start x shutdown my pc

The nouveau module crashes somewhat constantly, install the nvidia blob.

If you do just install the nvidia blob that will lead to a blackscreen while starting xorg, read: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA_Optimus for setup information.

Re: [SOLVED]lspci and start x shutdown my pc

That fixed all my problems. Minus the black screen issue. But is there a way to get nouveau working? Also thanks.
