[SOLVED] Broke ncurses.

I think I broke my (n)curses install.

Here's how:
I tried to install netbsd-curses (https://github.com/sabotage-linux/netbsd-curses): downloaded the github-repo as zip. Unzipped, did "make", then "make install".

Me not checking if there was an "uninstall" target and the thought of not being able to uninstall never popping up in my head during this process was of course supremely stupid.

Now, when I try to compile a program I made that uses ncurses, it still compiles, but the interface looks very broken.

ncurses is needed by a lot of other programs, so a broken ncurses is kinda really bad.

Is this fixable in a timely manner, or is it faster to just do a reinstall?

Thanks

Re: [SOLVED] Broke ncurses.

Seems it installs stuff to /usr/local - if you didn't install other stuff there on a regular base, removing the relevant files should be simple - you can also compare the ncurses package contents.
Lesson learned: if you had written a PKGBUILD you would have saved a lot of time ;-)

Re: [SOLVED] Broke ncurses.

Removed ncurses with -Rdd ncurses and reinstalled. That seems to have solved a couple things smile

I never looked into PKGBUILD's, will do that now I guess hahah

Thanks seth!

Marking this as solved.
