Hi,
if I launch pulseeffects, there is no sound anymore. I tried to play music with vlc. Same result with pulseeffects-git.

Did you misconfigure an effect or mute the virtual PE sinks? reset the settings in doubt (there's a toggle in the settings to reset to default), maybe post a
pacmd list-sinks
pacmd list-sink-inputs
pacmd list-sources
pacmd list-source-outputs
during this situation.

You should post that during playback (... if it is, throw in
sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
as well) and your pulseffects monitor through which audio has to pass to apply effects is muted.
pacmd set-source-output-mute 0 off #Double check the 0 with pacmd list-source-outputs
