Hi all,
suddenly my openoffice doesn't start anymore; I see the splash screen but nothing appears after that
I've tried to reinstall it but without any luck.
The odd thing is that no error messages appear on the console, so I don't know how to resolve this issue.
Any hint?
~ > pacman -Q |grep openoffice
openoffice-base 2.3.0-3
openoffice-it 2.3.0-1

mv ~/.openoffice.org2 ~/.openoffice.org2_bak and try again

Hi AndyRTR,
thank you for your reply; unfortunately I have also removed that dir (.openoffice.org2) but the problem persists

try to start /opt/openoffice/program/soffice -writer from console, and then read the error message.

Hi Moo-Crumpus,
no error message is displayed in console, I see only the splash screen
I can post the strace output, but it is quite long

please try another gtk-theme or switch to kde for testing.

Thank you AndyRTR for your suggestion, if I use the default gnome theme (Clearlooks) openoffice starts without
any problem; with other theme (like gummy) the problem persists.
I can only change the icon theme
