Xorg errors post install

Hey there!

I installed Arch from scratch, and ran the following after installing sudo and adding my user:

> pacman -Syu
> pacman -S libgl
> pacman -S xorg
> pacman -S mesa
> pacman -S xf86-video-intel
> pacman -S hwd
> hwd -xa
> pacman -S ttf-ms-fonts ttf-dejavu ttf-bitstream-vera

Then:

> startx

Which gives me the three xterm windows and a clock. However, when I hit Ctrl+Alt+Backspace to bail out, I get a screen with a bunch of errors and other information that I'm not sure what to do with.

XIO:      fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0"

waiting for X server to shut down FreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/share/fonts/misc:unscaled" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing.

Does this happen to anyone else as well? I have yet to install a window manager (Openbox) but perhaps I should fix these problems first?

Re: Xorg errors post install

Nope. I can't get the keymap to work properly, it's a standard PS/2 keyboard, nothing fancy at all, but despite having selected Swedish it keeps outputting Norwegian letters on the screen.

Can't seem to find an answer to what the module "type1" would be about, but the FATAL error suggests an explanation being that I didn't install something properly I suppose.

drmOpen, don't know. DRUScreenInit failure, no idea. Expected keysyms, well I found this wiki article covering the topic, but I have no idea what Xorg is up to here.

I don't understand why it can't find "sv-latin1" either, since it worked during install, and in the console before I went to install Xorg, and I believe it still does, just not in Xorg.

Then Type1 again, no idea still. Something that I don't have, but don't need, though that gives me an error?

XIO and onwards I assume is me shutting Xorg down with Ctrl+Alt+Backspace.

Re: Xorg errors post install

The type1 thing is a font that you can comment out in /etc/X11/xorg.conf or install the package #pacman -S xorg-fonts-type1.
