Re: TrueCrypt 5 - Mounting from console

thanks for your reply

doesn't even work in textmode (truecrpyt -t ). it's possible to mount but not to umount it:

truecrypt -t -d /dev/sdb1
Error: umount: /tmp/.truecrypt_aux_mnt1: Das Gerät wird momentan noch benutzt
umount: /tmp/.truecrypt_aux_mnt1: Das Gerät wird momentan noch benutzt

"harddrive is still in use" .. which isn't! oO

Re: TrueCrypt 5 - Mounting from console

Try unmounting the filesystem first.

Re: TrueCrypt 5 - Mounting from console

Something is broken with the new truecrypt. I got tired of trying to get around this new GUI "feature" and now I use LUKS instead.

Re: TrueCrypt 5 - Mounting from console

As far as unmounting goes, here's what worked for me: I use truecrypt only in loop-mounted files (say I truecrypt-mounted /dev/loop/1 onto /mnt/fl). After 'umount /mnt/fl' truecrypt still complains that the device is busy, but after 'umount /dev/loop/1' it successfully unmounted the file I had attached to /dev/loop/1.

Re: TrueCrypt 5 - Mounting from console

ok I am now unable to even mount the truecrypt file. Earlier I was unable to unmount it.
I am in testing repository .
I just tried truecrypt in Ubuntu 8.04 and it worked flawlessly, that left a bitter taste in my mouth, what is happening here can anyone help as to how to fix the issue.
The error I am getting with truecrypt while mounting is  "no loopback device available"
