Gwenview plugins don't work

I've installed kipi-plugins and plugin menu in gwenview is still empty. I'm interested is this gwenview bug or is it something else. Kipi works fine with digikam.

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass...and I'm all out of bubblegum.

Re: Gwenview plugins don't work

I have the same problem, there are no plugins in GwenView .. I do have installed these packages:
local/kipi-plugins 0.1.5-2
libkipi plugins for digikam and kde apps
local/libkipi 0.1.6-2
    library for kipi-plugins

But these are for KDE3 it seems (they install in /opt/) and GwenView is KDE4 now.

Should we consider this as a bug??

Re: Gwenview plugins don't work

in fact I guess this is because digikam is still KDE 3, so are kipi-plugins...

Re: Gwenview plugins don't work

So, gwenview doesn't have support for plugins yet.. Pity, gwenview is such a great app and it should be complete for KDE 4. What about KDE 4.2, does it have plugins yet?

Re: Gwenview plugins don't work

This is because digikam from Arch repos is still KDE3. KDE4 version is currently -rc1 so final should be released soon (early march). So are kipi-plugins.
So in the meantime, you could still try to install the development version of kipi-plugins. Hopefully they could work with gwenview.
