Autofs: nsswitch config syntax error

I installed autofs, configured it to mount on /media/net /etc/autofs/auto.net and whenever I try to start automount the logs spit back at me

automount[11398]: syntax error in nsswitch config near [ syntax error ]

I got a new nsswitch.conf from the filesystem package to no avail.  The error message is far from informative, and i can see no syntax errors in the file.

$ cat /etc/nsswitch.conf 
# Begin /etc/nsswitch.conf

passwd: files
group: files
shadow: files

publickey: files

hosts: files dns
networks: files

protocols: db files
services: db files
ethers: db files
rpc: db files

netgroup: db files

# End /etc/nsswitch.conf

so.. what have I missed ?

I'm experiencing this exact same error. Any solution?
