[Solved] xfce4 doesn't start -- unable to load failsafe session

EDIT: My ~/.config was set to root, I chowned back in place and it works.

Two days ago I installed arch linux. When I got X working alright I installed flux and awesome, both worked. Then I try to install the DE xfce,
but when I tried to start it (startxfce4) I just get an errorbox telling me this:

Unable to load failsafe session
Unable to determine a failsafe session name. Possible causes:
xfconfd isn't running (D-Bus setup problem);
environment variable $XDG_CONFIG_DIRS is set incorrectly (must include "/etc"),
or xfce4-session is installed incorrectly

This is the first time I have problems with xfce on any system, and I have no idea how to resolve this.

Have you installed hal and put it in your /etc/rc.conf daemons?

am having the same problem. have tried the mentioned chown to my user but to no avail.... could you be more specific as to what was changed.

That is how I fixed my xfce installation. Don't know why it is broken like this, never had this problem before, or even if that is the correct way to fix it, but everything works now.

I have this problem, when login by su command under root.
When im exit from session and login to system under user from the first, I have not problem.
