@zell045:
you should have a different DE around, just in case. Anything instead of going back to Winddog!
In my laptop (desktop too, by the way), I always have Openbox (for speed and simplicity) and XFCE (for comfort) and gkrellm (for CPU load and sensors). With that I can go around these small glitches, and avoid Winddog.

Don't really have the time to setup and play with a new DE... this quarter's seems its going to be killer. Probably when I have a change I'll try openbox one of these days.

Gnome 2.26, Nvidia 185 and Xorg 1.5.3

Latest Xorg update fixed everything here.

A round of applause for the Arch Linux team smile

Re: Xorg Cpu Usage

Just wish to chime in with a 'well done devs' for the quick fix. As soon as I saw the 100% CPU, I came here, read this thread, changed mirrors, updated, and everythings solved!

Re: Xorg Cpu Usage

Hey there,

i upgraded today to gnome 2.26, never using the testing repository.

I have the same problem. 50-100% usage by xorg   :-/

Any suggestions?

Greetings,
Frank
