enlightenment doesn't start

Hi,
I installed E17 with pacman(simply "pacman -S e-svn") and, when I tried to launch it... I got an error message :

E - PID=25474, do_precache=0

(Of course, the pid change...)
I also tried to install it with ArchE17 script, and I got the same error. Beside that, entrance always worked perfectly.
And notice also that I can't install ecomorph from AUR. I get this :

configure.ac:23: error: possibly undefined macro: AC_PROG_INTLTOOL
If this token and others are legitimate, please use m4_pattern_allow.
      See the Autoconf documentation.
autoreconf: /usr/bin/autoconf failed with exit status: 1

(Then no makefile, thus the compilation fail...)

From where could this come?

How are you trying to launch it?

Re: enlightenment doesn't start

I tried with entrance, but I see that error message when I launch the "enlightenment_start" command.(I can't see error messages with entrance, but I think it's the same problem...)

Re: enlightenment doesn't start

I haven't tested entrance in a while, care to tell me which architecture you're on ?

As for the enlightenment_start command, that is not how you're suppose to start e17. If you want to start it from the command line add a line similar to

ck-launch-session /usr/bin/enlightenment_start

to your ~/.xinitrc and launch your xsession with 'startx'.

Re: enlightenment doesn't start

I'm on an i686 architecture.
I tested that command right now, and I got the same error. (I did it from xterm on openbox, not with startx, but anyway the command that uses my display manager should be correct....)
EDIT: I also tried with startx, nothing started too.

you should not do it from openbox. You should completely exit your xserver first. I've never tried starting e17 from openbox, not sure if that is possible at all.

Re: enlightenment doesn't start

Yes, I also think it's not possible to launch E from openbox (at least without an option like "--replace"), I just checked that it gave me the same error.
I also tried to use startx after having stopped entranced. The screen turned black for a little time (about 5 sec), and then it was back to the tty. I can see the error(E - PID=x, do_precache=0) from it.

Re: enlightenment doesn't start

I uninalled e17 and then reinstalled it... It didn't work.
I think the problems are due to my ecore installation :
Sometimes, I have the fowling error :

exhibit: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/etk/engines/ecore_evas_x11.so: undefined symbol: ecore_x_window_del

It seems it's also therefore that ecomorph compilation fail.
