Application helpers in Gran Paradiso

I am unable to set application helpers in them. When I click on browse and select the application.. it doesn't save the option for future use. is there any way i can remember the applications for firefox to use to open files w/o entering manually?

Usually, when you have previously selected an application to use, the entry will appear for future dialogs without having to browse again.

If I remember correctly, there's also a checkbox to remember application association so the dialogs don't even come up.

Posting your firefox version might help.

I've run into the same problem. My Firefox version is 3.0.8.

The checkbox to save my choice is not an option, as I do not always want to open the file, but sometimes prefer saving it to my hard drive.

Does this refer to the application selection in the preferences menu or the dialog that appears when you click a file on the web?
