Samba "spams" destination pc

hi, i installed arch about week ago and decided today that its would be nice to access my other pc(win xp) in home thought network.

Went to wiki page about samba and set it up without any seriouse problems(except it loads strangly long 20-30 sec)
But when i decided to mount directory on my pc "funny" stuff started happening.

sudo mount.cifs //192.168.0.3/xxx /network/192.168.0.3/

once i mounted it started to "spam" the other pc with new empty directorys => orbit-martins-*
* stands for lots of random characters(1-F as far as i looked there was 2500 folders ^^")
Then i tried to access the directory with mc after mounting and it made directory for mc the same way.
So i gues it makes directory for every procces wich accesses the pc.
Checked /etc/samba/smb.conf but didnt find anything about "spaming" there except to spam my pc with logs when someone joins me.

So my question is...whats going on and how could i fix it?

Re: Samba "spams" destination pc

This is Gnome doing something, not Samba.  I don't use it myself ( Gnome ) so I can't say where to look for a fix, but Orbit is definitely a Gnome thing.
