Why two nvidia driver strands? [SOLVED]

Why are there two strands of nvidia drivers right now, 180.xx and 185.xx? Both seem to be be in current development.

I know I should probably post to the nvidia site forum first, but I generally get better answers faster in Arch-land.

Thanks.

Doesnt make sense to me either. But i guess they have 2 developement branches, one is for the betas (185) and another one from where the stable releases are pulled after a prerelase.

O.K., thanks, Chrysalis. I hadn't seen that explanation before.
