Mutt w/ slang?

Is there any particular reason the version of Mutt in the repositories uses slang instead of ncurses?

It's not a huge deal but almost every distro uses ncurses as the backend and using slang can cause some unforeseen differences. Luckily it only takes a moment to recompile it to use ncurses..

Re: Mutt w/ slang?

I went from 1.5.18 (slang version current in repos) to 1.5.19 ncurses version in AUR then upon doing reinstall went with the repo `.5.18 slang version and just now have gone and replaced it with the 1.5.19 version again from AUR.

Hoping that the 1.5.18 version gets updated to 1.5.19
Haven't had any issues with the slang repo version though obviously all else being equal the ncurses version would be cool

I have one other package that uses slang so I just went with the repo version. Looking forward to 1.5.19 pacman available version myself.

mutt is SO wondrous!

Re: Mutt w/ slang?

I'm a huge mutt fan also. The main reason I asked was because I had never heard of a distro enabling slang by default, and some people on the mutt mailing list were having issues with the slang version. One of them was specifically an Arch user if I remember right..
