dialog (ncurses) custom colors - possible ?

the arch installer script uses dialog (ncurses) to display its windows

is there way to make dialog look / an alternative to dialog that looks like this ? (custom colors and option to start from the very corner)

There are some sample ".rc" files in the sources.
