LUKS Password Prompt and Fbsplash

Hello,

Is there a way to be asked for the password keeping the splashscreen visible? For now, I just place the fbsplash hook after the encrypt one, which works but is not enough eye candy. :-)

Thank you.

Like you, I enter my passphrase in myself so not real sure if this will work, but if you had the encryption key on a usb stick all you would have to do is make sure the usb stick is in when booting. I think you can set it up like that? Then you will have maximum time with your eye candy. smile

Is that an option for you?

Thank you for the suggestion but I am very afraid of possibly losing the flash drive. Finally, I decided to remove the splash screen entirely so I can feel the raw power of my machine. Not really what I intended but it works. :-)

Well, you can have both a key file on a usb stick and also a password in case you lose it. After losing the usb stick, just boot up an arch installation disc and chroot into your machine to prepare a new usb key.
