Hello,
Is there a way to be asked for the password keeping the splashscreen visible? For now, I just place the fbsplash hook after the encrypt one, which works but is not enough eye candy. :-)
Thank you.

Like you, I enter my passphrase in myself so not real sure if this will work, but if you had the encryption key on a usb stick all you would have to do is make sure the usb stick is in when booting. I think you can set it up like that? Then you will have maximum time with your eye candy.
Is that an option for you?

Thank you for the suggestion but I am very afraid of possibly losing the flash drive. Finally, I decided to remove the splash screen entirely so I can feel the raw power of my machine. Not really what I intended but it works. :-)

Well, you can have both a key file on a usb stick and also a password in case you lose it. After losing the usb stick, just boot up an arch installation disc and chroot into your machine to prepare a new usb key.
