Hi! a few days ago I installed Arch linux in virtualBox running on Ubuntu Hardy (I want to test it and then install it in my brand new Asus EEE 701). During the installation process I didn't have much trouble. I configured the internet access with dhcp and made a system upgrade with pacman. Then, I tried to install Xorg but with no success:(. I read about "hwd" in the arch wiki so I tried to install it in order to detect my hardware automatically and have it configured. After entering "pacman -S hwd" I received the following message: "hwd package not found, looking for a group..." error: hwd: not found in the package list". I took a screenshot of the content con the Xorg.0.log.
Hope you can help me with this issues. Thanks!:)

There's an error in your xorg.conf file. You may want to post that. Alternatively, you can try to run the system without one.

The error message says quite clearly which line is wrong...
Anyway, do you even need an xorg.conf file? Try removing it and see if everything just works. You may need to install hal and add it to your daemons line in /etc/rc.conf. If you really do need an xorg.conf, then run "X -configure".

Perfect! I remove the xorg.conf file and everything was fine. X started without problems. Thanks for all!!
PD. I have changed the status of the problem to "solved".
