Since I upgraded to the new kernel and new xf86 intel driver, when my laptop (xps m1330) display sleeps, the computer crashes. This doesn't happen when I suspend.
How can I fix this?

Are you using a screensaver?
I have an xps m1330 with latest drivers and it does not crash when I do, for instance:
xset dpms force off
I am using xfce without compositing.

mine doesn't crash either when I do that...but for whatever reason if the computer is left idle for long, the display will sleep, and when I try moving the mouse, the display doesn't wake, and caps lock doesn't give any response.
I have no screensaver. It's set to blank screen.

I have the same problem. Sometime when my laptop's lid closed, the screen did not close but did not response on both mouse or keyboard
