blacklist

Is there a blacklist file i can add modules etc. to? I'm looking to get rid of pcspkr. Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: blacklist

I've never done it - but looking at my fs:

[root@mistersaint modprobe.d]$ ls
framebuffer_blacklist.conf modprobe.conf sound.conf usb-load-ehci-first.conf

that frambuffer_blacklist.conf looks like something i would check out. Inside it looks like it goes

blacklist [modulename]

I would try throwing a like that that into one of the conf files in that directory modprobe.conf perhaps?

Re: blacklist

Add it with an "!" in front to the modules line in /etc/rc.conf

Re: blacklist

I guess you just don't want pcspkr as your default sound output. I don't like this way of "getting rid" of it.
I rather use asoundconf found in AUR, which can easily set the default card with "asoundconf set-default-card FOOBAR". (find out the name with "asoundconf list")
