I have now Thunderbird version 2.0.0.22 (20090719). I have been using it on Windows and now Linux for years, but recently it has bugs, at least for me, and I want to change it.
I must reset the default font, which I can do, so that's not too bad.
But now if I press Ctrl-+ to make text size bigger, it deletes the message and jumps to the next one. If I do it again by mistake I lose the message forever. And I press Ctrl-+ all the time b/c email texts are so small.
I see many Arch people like Claws. I also see Evolution is popular for Linux users. I liked Thunderbird a lot until the past few months.
Any suggestions?
PS: I do some emails in Hebrew so I need support for that too.

Well it doesn't compare them.
Seems from a bit of Googling that Claws is more popular than Evolution. I anyway don't run Gnome so it seems Claws makes more sense. I will give it a whirl.
Thanks.

you can try thunderbird3, there's beta3 out.

Interesting idea. Is the only way to install that by downloading it from the Thunderbird site? And then what about pacman? It wont' update it for me then, no?
I would be willing to try anyhow.
I could always manually update it.

It's in the AUR: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?O … _Search=Go
I use this PKGBUILD http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=16963 (but need to change URL and version in PKGBUILD, if you want I can send you my PKGBUILD)

Yes. I will contact you offline. Thanks.

I used the package directly from the repos--I wasn't sure of the difference in yours, cinan. Anyhow, this is great. It fixed the bug above AND the fonts look better AND it has tabs, which looks like a GREAT feature. True it's a beta, but so far so good.
Thank you very much for this idea!
