[solved]Emulating scrollwheel

hi, i got a cheap little kensington trackball with only 2 buttons and a ball, no scrollwheel. Is it possible to emulate a scrollwheel moving up and down by holding both buttons and moving the ball in the same way a middleclick is emulated when both the mouse buttons are pressed?
I don't want to go back to a mouse, and the only scroll wheeled trackball in the store near me costs 1400 SEK. (191$ or 136 euro)

Re: [solved]Emulating scrollwheel

Have you tried holding down both buttons while moving the trackball?

Try this google search for emulate scroll with a trackball linux for some possible xorg.conf changes.

Re: [solved]Emulating scrollwheel

Oops, should have thought a little bit more about the buttons that i were to use. If i emulate a scrollwheel with the two buttons i got plus the ball, Tremulous will be completely fucked up, it will be which combination i choose at all so using a button on the mouse plus ball is not a solution.
What remains is pressing something on the keyboard, and if i put my hands on the keyboard i might as well press pgup or pgdn.

Thanks for the help anyway thisoldman smile
