Problem with changing my DE

I use asesome archiso-live, its default DE is Xfce. Now I want to change to lxde.

I tried to modify xinitrc, but it didn't work.

Re: Problem with changing my DE

if you have a dm, you can change your default session there. otherwise, did you modify your xinitrc as shown in the wiki?

Re: Problem with changing my DE

I just completed that very shift from xfce4 to lxde.  From here  http://wiki.lxde.org/en/ArchLinux I used this line:

pacman -Sy ttf-dejavu ttf-liberation ttf-bitstream-vera lxde xorg xorg-video-drivers xorg-input-drivers hal gamin gnome-icon-theme tango-icon-theme openbox

To start lxde do:

xinit /usr/bin/startlxde

Works like a charm and free -m shows almost 100MB less usage than experienced with xfce4.  Total 65MB after lxde/ openbox opens, and before opening anything else.
