gdm "authentication failed" dialog

Hey guys, I've just got done installing Arch on my laptop. I've followed the guides on arch wiki and now I have a problem after gdm starts I get a Authentication failed error. I click the OK button and it it comes right back up within a second or two. I've googled it but there seem to be about 500000000000000000000000000000000000000 causes for this dialog and without further information I dont know where to start.

If there happen to be any gdm developers reading this you need to do a much better job at error handling cause what your doing now is completely worthless.

If you guys have any suggestions for me on how I might get around this please let me know. In the mean time I'm gonna try xdm and see if I can get that working.

Re: gdm "authentication failed" dialog

There is very little info here.  Does it happen with 1 user, all users?  Are you using a blank password?  Are you trying to login as root?

Yeah man..

Totally not helping with your "worthless job" comments.  I would like to see you code better software.

Now on to CONSTRUCTIVELY working out your problem:

Have you logged the user in via Text mode?

Have you even created other users?

If you did what groups are they a member of?
