Hi guys
From gdm when logging in I get a pop up with the following error.
Users $HOME/.dmrc file is being ignored. This prevents the default sessions and language from being saved. File should be owned by user and have 644 permissions. Users $HOME directory must be owned by user and not writable by others.
K very thing worked on the install ok and checked all the file ownership and permissions and seemed ok. Can this be caused by a lamer hacker? lol Lamer.
Any suggestions to what to look into here for a fix, don't want this error on logging in.

did you install arch onto a computer using a previous /home and the same username?

No and it was working proper after the install. Installed some packages and themes and had a hard reboot from heat ,, dont stack paper under the laptop lol. Ownership and permissions look good.

What are the permissions on both the file and your home dir?

Quick fix, change the permissions on your home directory and the .dmrc file. I had that happen in Ubuntu before, but not since I came to Arch. Normally caused by wine, somehow...

The other possible cause is using sudo to run graphical apps like gedit rather than gksudo.

chmod 644 .dmrc should do the trick
