I was puzzled to death earlier when I couldn't seem to get konqueror to load from clicking an item on the folderview desktop, but it would apparently run from konsole. On removing all relevant folders in ~/ to be sure that's not the issue and finding it didn't help, I came to notice it worked fine on my sister's x86_64 setup. I compared a few packages, and she had dolphin installed, whereas I didn't. Installing dolphin makes konqueror load again. Removing it and then immediately clicking an icon on the desktop yields a nag about dolphin's toolbar or whatnot missing, which I'd not gotten before and don't get again soon after.
Before I file a bug report, can someone else confirm this please? Specifically, clicking on folderview-desktop (traditional style) icons without dolphin. I'm still not entirely sure it's not a coincidence or something else I've tweaked into breakage, as during this trial I also tried to fix it and managed to make konqueror endlessly load new instances when i clicked on one of said icons.

If I'm not mistaken, konqueror in KDE 4 uses the dolphin kpart for the file browser. I'm not sure that it can load without dolphin being installed.

Good, so I'm not crazy. If such is true, a dependency needs to be fixed, as pacman doesn't care if konq is installed without it. I will post a report as soon as I get the chance.
EDIT: Bug posted.
