[SOLVED] fbsplash doesn't recognize freetype2 (x86_64)

Hi, i tried to install fbsplash from AUR (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=13541). When i run "makepkg -c" on it, it breaks when checking for freetype2. It says: "checking for FREETYPE2... configure: error: freetype was not found".
i couldn't find anything in the forums or in the comments of the AUR-package.

How to solve this issue?

EDIT: *arrgh* didn't search hard enough, sorry. it worked when i installed pkgconfig. sorry for the useless post, it's written in the comments (at the bottom).
