Login screen is strange after update

Hi. I am using XFCE and after I came back from a buissines trip I did a upgrade. The thing is that the login screen is screwed up. Lookes "old school" and I can choose my whole name but not enter username. When I log in the calculator always opens? And at the same time my keyboard layout is back to american insted of what I have choosen. I have tried searching for this but cant find anything. Maybe it would be easier if I were not on a trip when this update messed up my system.... any thought to what might cause the problem?

Re: Login screen is strange after update

Which display manager are you using (xdm, gdm, kdm, slim, entrance, etc.)?

And in terms of the calculator always being open, it sounds like XFCE is restoring a saved session.  I'm not an XFCE user, but I think the settings are in Settings->Settings Manager->Sessions and perhaps Startup.

See this for keyboard layout info.

I use GDM. Going to work now. Will look at this later today.

Re: Login screen is strange after update

This is the new version of GDM.
You should be able to choose the keyboard layout (@ the bottom of the screen) after you have clicked on your username.

http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Gno … g_gdm_2.28 might be usefull too.
