Hi all.
I ran
pacman -Syu
to update my system. When it asked me whether I wanted to update pacman I said yes.
After it installed, I tried to run 'pacman -Syu' again, but I got the following errror.
pacman: /lib/libc.so.6: version 'GLIBC_2.7' not fount (required by /user/lib/libfetch.so)
I've tried to install the GLIBC package:
pacman -U ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/core/os/x86_64/glibc-2.10.1-5-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz
...but it I get the same error.
I have no idea what to do from here. I thought about reinstalling pacman, but how can I even reinstall pacman, if pacman isn't working?
Thanks for the help.

If it's only libfetch that is affected maybe you can still install the older pacman package from /var/cache/pacman/pkg.

Try updating the entire toolchain (kernel-headers, glibc, binutils, gcc-libs)

Hi, after Arch reinstall and running pacman -Syu I have exactly the same problem as amabeyo. I tried to untar libfetch pkg from /var/cache/pacman/pkg to / but it doesn't help. Well, after year of using Arch I am shamefully still a noob, and Allan's hint sounds still a bit cryptic to me. Does it mean I just have to download by hand kernel-headers, glibc and so pkgs from repository and just untar it to / ? And will it work if I do it from some other distro liveCD? I have some suspicion my Arch CD is outdated, can there be the problem?
