two diferent configuration files of mysql

I found two configuration files of mysql, which are

/etc/my.cnf
/etc/mysql/my.cnf

and neither of them is symbolic link.
the owner of /etc/my.cnf is mysql,
and /etc/mysql/my.cnf is root.

could anyone tell me the diference?

Re: two diferent configuration files of mysql

Run

pacman -Qo $file

on both of them, hopefully only one is owned by the MySQL package. That's the one you need to be editing.
