Since two days my M-audio Transit refuses to work.
In my kernel.log I found :
May 12 22:42:56 Megatron kernel: madfuload[1058]: segfault at 18fe96ea ip 00007ff518f142bc sp 00007fff9bf72c70 error 4 in libc-2.11.1.so[7ff518ecf000+152000]
.
My firmware apparently loads correct since this is the output from lsusb :
Bus 003 Device 004: ID 0763:2006 Midiman M-Audio Transit
The 2006 indicates that firmware has loaded.
I recently updated glibc (to which libc-2.11.1.so belongs) and I also updated alsa.
Any remedy to this problem ?
In another thread I found that disabling snd_hda_intel solved the problem. I blacklisted this module (the intel is my internal sound card, the M-audio is external feeding my speakers) but still no sound trough my lovely speakers On the other hand I still want to use my internal sound card too so blacklisting is not really an option.

I fixed the problem in the mean time.
The madfuload error can be fixed by the applying the following patch to the source code from AUR package (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=12812) :
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26814059/ … ad.c.patch
This patch was submitted in resolving an ubuntu bug : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … bug/301771.
After that, I re-installed alsa (just to be sure).
And I'm back in business
